Long Lost Friend

Not too long ago, I met a girl named Ivy while working for the same company. We clicked immediately although we have different interests and came from different background. Both of us were 26 at that time.

We hanged out after work almost everyday for coffee or cake. Our superior loved to pick on her due to her poor command in English. The thing is she was so talented. She wrote very well in Chinese and produced great scripts. Also she danced too. I was nothing compared to her. Still few people noticed her.

The pressure came when the company asked her to leave. After much persuasions, she finally found a job to write as freelance writer in a Chinese magazine publisher. I was happy for her as she could do what she loved most. I bought the magazine just to read her articles.

A day after new year in 2005, I received a devastating news. The hospital called the company up to get the contact of her parents. Ivy met an accident while crossing the motorcycle lane. She was hit by a motorcycle and went into coma. When the hospital finally managed to contact her parents, half of her brain cells were dead.

When I visited her in the hospital, she looked so calm and pretty without any scratch or scar. She never responded to my words when I whispered to her ears. I was in despair to see her state and knew in a way, she would be gone soon.

After 5 days, her family finally took her back to her hometown and pulled her life support and she was pronounced dead. I realised how fragile life is. And to face my superior reminded me how mean and cold the company was to Ivy.

I quitted my job after 2 weeks telling myself what is a job compared to human lives. Truth is I was also in depression. And to get out from the pain of losing Ivy, I left the company. I am happier these days but Ivy will stay in my memory forever.

The tirolean ribbon on the shoulder as a strap and pink stitches are adding a cute accent to the natural looking tunic.
Her hair style is a red long wavy hair with bangs.
The lacy headband and flower pins dress her hair very nicely.
For shoes she chooses sabot and leg warmers.
Her make up is a saxe blue eye shadow with pink blush and lips.
